N-400: What “Interview Was Scheduled” Means

USCIS has put your interview on the calendar and the appointment notice with date, time and location is being sent. This usually means the case reached the front of the interview queue at your field office.

For N-400 the interview includes the English and civics tests; passing usually leads to an oath ceremony scheduling step rather than a card.

Good to do now

  • Watch for the notice. The status often shows up before the letter arrives.
  • Gather originals of the documents filed with the case, plus any the notice lists.
  • If you must reschedule, follow the notice instructions as early as possible; rescheduling adds real delay.
